Location

The Örnsköldsvik area (some 100 km south of Umeå) is the home of biorefinery-oriented industrial companies, which are members of Processum Biorefinery Initiative and include Domsjö Fabriker , SEKAB and MoRe Research. Örnsköldsvik-based initiatives and resources also include the Biorefinery of the Future and the Swedish pilot plant for research on cellulosic ethanol, in addition to other major companies in the energy and forestry sectors, such as Övik Energi and Holmen Skog, respectively.
